Who Can Join NFEC

WHO CAN JOIN

MEMBERSHIP OF NFEC IS OPEN TO:

any further education college or other post-16 provider of education and/or training in engineering and/or technology who isfunded under the provisions contained within the Learning and Skills Act 2000
any school that provides learning in engineering and/or related technologies at Key Stage 4 or later
any body corporate or unincorporated association which is closely concerned with education and training in engineering and technology and interested in furthering the Forum's work
any person who is closely concerned with education and training in engineering and technology and interested in furthering the Forum's work not being an employee of a member organisation but having previously been so employed for a period of not less than five years PROVIDED that such person shall not remain as a member for more than five years after the cessation of such employment as shall have paid the appropriate annual subscription as laid down from time to time by the Directors of the Forum.

There are a few simple membership 'rules':

Every member organisation and member shall have one vote
Each member organisation shall appoint an individual to represent it and to vote on its behalf at meetings of the Forum and may appoint an alternate to replace its appointed representative at any meeting of the Forum if the appointed representative is unable to attend
Each member organisation shall notify to the NFEC Secretary the name of the representative appointed by it and of any alternate . If the representative or alternate resigns from or otherwise leaves the member organisation he or she shall forthwith cease to be the representative of the member organisation
The Executive Committee may unanimously and for good reason reject any application for membership
The Executive Committee may unanimously and for good reason terminate the membership of any member or member organisation provided that the member or an appointed representative of the member organisation concerned (as the case may be) shall have the right to be heard by the Executive Committee accompanied by a friend before a final decision is made.
